The device security project focuses on new techniques for securing the phone. Our major focus is to use language based techniques to improve the the security of the software on the phone. The techniques enable us to reduce the risks associated with downloaded software and also addresses issues of confidentiality. We are also developing methods to prevent attacks on devices through various channels including new types of network interfaces including Bluetooth, iRDA, WiFi and WiMAX.
